]]> Apple has just released the iOS 15.1 Beta 3 to developers. The new update carries a build number of 19B5060d according to @Apple SWUpdates on Twitter. The update come a week after the release of iOS 15.1 Beta 2 that fixed the Unlock with Apple Watch bug (also fixed in iOS 15.0.1) for iPhone 13 beta testers. The update brings as usual fixes and enhancements wherever possible. Also available today is iPadOS 15.1 Beta for iPad beta testers.

According to popular wallpaper designer @AR72014, Apple ProRes video capture is now available for the iPhone 13 Pro models. ProRes is Apple’s own highly compressed video format/codec useful for high-quality cinema-grade post-production experience. It supports a resolution of up to 8K in general (4K 30fps on the iPhone 13 Pro devices).

]]> After a week of releasing the first beta of iOS 15.1, Apple brought out the iOS 15.1 Beta 2 to developers and public beta testers on Tuesday. The update, according to 9to5Mac fixes the ‘Unlock with Apple Watch’ bug that affected iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro upon launch. Users rocking the iPhone 13 weren’t able to unlock their devices with an Apple Watch while wearing a mask.

If you are an iPhone 13 series user and want the functionality back, you may consider registering for Apple Beta Program and installing Beta 2 of iOS 15.1 right away.

Safari on iPad mini 6 now loads webpages with the iPad mobile user agent for improved text legibility.

Keep in mind that you will also need WatchOS 8.1 beta 1 through the Apple Beta Software Program to be installed on your Apple Watch to enjoy this feature.

Beta users can head over to Settings > General > Software Update to check for updates.

]]> After being in the beta phase for over a month, Apple has released iOS 15.1 to all iPhone users out there. The update with the build number 19B74 brings all the changes and improvements we saw in beta versions. Weighing in at a sizeable 1.28GB on our 2020 iPhone SE, we hope Apple has also fixed battery drain issues.

Also, iPadOS 15.1 is available for those rocking an iPad.

To update your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Software Update and give it a couple of seconds to pop up.

What’s new in iOS 15.1?

  • SharePlay is back after a hiatus. The feature allows users to share and watch media with friends and family effortlessly via facetime calls.
  • ProRes video on iPhone 13 Pro devices enabling users to shoot video in high grade and cinema-level quality. A very useful Apple codec for post-production.
  • Add and verify the COVID-19 vaccination card in the Wallet app.
  • Turn off auto camera switching when taking macro photos or videos on iPhone 13 Pro line.

As for what’s new with the new beta version, there are a few new features, bug fixes, and improvements. SharePlay is making a comeback after a brief hiatus since the iOS15 beta 6.

What’s new in iOS 15.1 Beta 1?

  • SharePlay: One of the prominent features of iOS 15 is back in the iOS 15.1 Beta 1. SharePlay allows users to share and watch videos with other users via Facetime, all in perfect sync in the same exact quality.
  • Store Covid-19 vaccination cards in the Wallet app: Now users can add their certified digital Covid-19 vaccination cards to the Wallet app. This will help easy vaccine status verification on the go by simply scanning the QR code.
  • Lossless Audio for the HomePods: After taking a break since the third beta of iOS 15, the feature is now back in action. Users can now enjoy lossless audio via HomePod on Apple Music.

]]> It’s another week and another beta time. Apple has released the iOS 15 Beta 4 to developers.  The build number for the new beta update is 19B5068A. The size of the update is 646.2 MB as per a screenshot from @AppleSWUpdates on Twitter. For those who missed it, the previous beta release notably brought ProRes support and more to the iPhone 13 Pro users. Also, iPadOS 15.1 Beta 4 is available today for every iPad.
