]]> An updated 3rd generation of the iPhone SE is in the cards at Apple. Unusually, Apple is set to release a new SE model In just two years as opposed to a familiar four-year cycle. As per a tweet from CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) Ross Young, the 2022 iPhone SE may bear the name “SE+ 5G”.

The purported iPhone SE+ 5G will come with the now age-old 4.7” LCD fitted inside the good old chassis of the current-gen. And yes, 5G is expected to be the addition to the feature list this year.

Another important tidbit we have is about the 4th gen model likely to release sometime in 2023 or 2024. A 5.7” display would be equipped in the model. The display is most likely to be of the OLED variety as Apple’s iPhone lineup is all OLED today barring the SE model.

Having said that, the iPhone 13 series much like its predecessor supports only officially supports up to 20W charging. However, as per a new report, that may not be true at all.

An image by DuanRui sourced from Weibo has it that the iPhone 13 Pro Max appears to support a peak charging rate at 27W apparently. The picture has the iPhone connected to a multimeter and measured as to how much max current it can receive when used with a 30W brick. If this is all true, users can buy a 30W charger and top up their shiny new iPhone 13 Pro to enjoy maximum charging speed.

As for the regular iPhone 13 models, we cannot confirm at this point whether the devices support peak 27W charging. At the same time, we also can’t think of a reason why the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini would be left out here.

]]> At the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro launch event, Apple claimed the devices sport better endurance than last year’s iPhone 12 models. The Cupertino giant said the iPhone 13 and 13 mini last 2.5 hours and 1.5 hours respectively more than their predecessor and the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pero are claimed to bring in the same numbers over the previous iterations. However, as usual, Apple did not come up with every iPhone 13 battery capacity in Wh or mAh.

HOT: iOS 15 is now available to all users

Now, a report from 9to5Mac has spilled the beans about the actual battery capacities of the iPhone 13 series sourced from Apple’s recent filing on Chemtrec. Every iPhone 13 battery has gained capacity with the iPhone 13 Pro Max being equipped with an 18% larger battery over the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Last year’s iPhone 12 and 12 Pro had the exact same 10.78 Wh battery but this year the iPhone 13 comes with a 12.41 Wh battery (15% improvement) and the 13 Pro brings in an 11.97 Wh unit (11% increase). From what it appears to be, we feel the iPhone 13 Pro Max will be the battery champ this year. However, considering the iPhone 13 neither has a 120Hz display nor as many pixels to push compared to the iPhone 13 Pro, the former is all set to give the latter a good competition in the endurance game for sure.
