The iPhone 14 series isn’t even here and the iPhone 15 rumors have already started to do rounds. Interestingly, as per a fresh new rumor, the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to come without a SIM card slot in 2023.

The source, blogdoiphone which is a Brazilian blog claims that the physical SIM slot will make way for two eSIM in-built slots. Both eSIMs will be able to operate simultaneously. On the other hand, in countries, and regions where eSIM hasn’t taken off yet, we expect Apple to retain physical SIM versions of iPhone 15 Pro.

Apple planning to ditch the physical SIM slot is a precursor to a possible portless iPhone going forward. All in all, let’s take all this with a pinch of salt as 2023 is still pretty far away for now.

Cupertino giant, Apple seems to already have started preparing for a new iPad mini. Tentatively called the iPad mini 6 Pro for now due to a probable 120Hz ProMotion display being developed by Samsung. As per a Korean news forum Clien.net (via @FronTron), Samsung’s display division has allegedly sent a sample to Apple for testing.

An 8.3″ 120Hz display panel manufactured by Samsung will supposedly be employed in the upcoming new iPad mini iteration. Having said that, upon launch, we saw the current iPad mini 6 exhibit jelly scrolling during an iFixit teardown. For starters, jelly scrolling is a jelly-like effect that occurs when one half of the display refreshes slower than the other.

The Cupertino giant Apple once again blew away the entire chip industry on Sunday. The company unveiled the industry-leading and ever fastest computer chipsets, the M1 Pro and M1 Max. The new chips debuted on the redesigned 2021 MacBook line. Before we get to the all-new 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro laptops, let’s talk a bit about the groundbreaking chip Apple just introduced.

Apple’s flexing it with the M1 Pro and M1 Max!

apple-m1-pro-m1-max-4457966 Source: Apple

Claiming to be their fastest ever built chipsets to date, the M1 Pro and M1 Max basically build upon the solid M1 platform. Apple says both the M1 Pro and M1 Max deliver 70% faster CPU performance than last year’s M1. And quite naturally, the graphics performance of the M1 Pro is 2x faster than the M1. The M1 Max, on the other hand, takes the cake away with 4x better GPU performance.

Up to 32GB of unified memory is available on the M1 Pro with the M1 Max doubling it to a whopping 64GB of unified memory. That said, the memory bandwidth on the M1 Pro is 200GB/s and 400GB/s on the M1 Max.

The M1 Pro and M1 Max both pack a 10-core CPU with eight high-performance cores and two low-performance cores. Apple says the CPU performance on the M1 Pro is 70% faster than on the M1. For comparison’s sake, Apple claims the M1 Pro is 1.7x faster than the highest-end 8-core PC at the same power level. The M1 Pro attains the PC chip’s peak performance all while being 70% power efficient.

Apple’s in-house Media Engine takes advantage of the M1 Pro and M1 Max for video acceleration. ProRes, the company’s super high-quality cinema-grade video format is supported again while being extremely power efficient.

The 2021 MacBook Pro line

Proudly carrying the new breathtaking Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets are the new 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro laptops. And yes, as a laptop first, the notch has made it to the MacBook as speculated earlier. The new MacBook Pro models bring a new display, camera and MagSafe makes a return after years.

A 120Hz mini-LED display lands on the MacBook Pro models for 2021. A peak brightness of 1600 nits and support billion colors is impressive. Even more, impressive is the contrast ratio of 10,00,000:1. Residing in the notch is a new 1080p selfie camera. Sadly no Face ID made it here which is disappointing.

As for the I/O, we have got the aforementioned MagSafe charging port, HDMI port, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, and a MicroSDXC card reader on board.

On the design front, a newly designed aluminum enclosure is here. Heat dissipation is well-taken care of due to the enclosure being built around the thermal system. Sustained performance is ensured as a result. Also, the cooling fans hardly even have to turn on, thanks to the M1 Pro and M1 Max’s unparalleled efficiency.

Sound quality is maintained by a high-fidelity six-speaker setup in combination with two tweeters. Support for Spatial Audio is present along with theater-like Dolby Atmos audio extravaganza.

This year, Apple has traded in the TouchBar for traditional function keys.

Apple claims to use 100% recycled aluminum for the enclosure, usage of 100% rare earth materials in magnets, and more aimed towards achieving their 2030 Carbon Neutral goal.

Booting up the 2021 MacBook Pro models is MacOS Monterey.

Available for order now in M1 Pro and M1 Max configurations, the 14″ MacBook Pro will set you back at least $1,999. As for the 16″ MacBook Pro, it starts at  $2,499. Shipping starts on October 26.

The iPad Air 5 aka the iPad Air 2022 is finally here with much-needed refinement. The Peek Performance Event on Tuesday also witnessed the launch of the iPhone SE 3. Anyways, let’s get straight to the point. The new iPad Air 5 is worthy of your consideration considering the noticeable upgrades on offer. Alright. Now let’s talk about the new iPad Air 5 supercharged with M1 chip treatment it received today.

Connectivity

Right off the bar, the iPad Air 5 embraces 5G network connectivity for a faster internet experience. Then we have the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 2x faster USB-C port for charging and data transfers.

Design

Everything in the design department is nothing more than a carry-over from the previous-gen model. Touch ID is still wonderfully integrated into the power button. We wished if Face ID made its way to the iPad Air 5 but anyway it isn’t a deal-breaker of any sorts.

Storage, crazy performance

Once again much like the last-gen model, the new iPad Air 2021 storage capacity starts at 64GB with 256GB being the only other option. RAM is believed to be 4GB but we expected a 6GB version at least. As for the performance, Apple’s striking M1 chipset is employed to keep the iPad Air 5 churning out demanding tasks. The 8-core CPU is 60x faster than the A14 on the outgoing model.

As for the software, iPadOS 15 runs the show here.

Display and camera

The same bezel-less 10.9″ Liquid Retina display is here with the exact same resolution and pixel density. True Tone technology is here as usual along with support for Apple Pencil 2.

Photography is handled by a 12MP single camera system with support to 4K 60fps video recording. Upfront, a 12MP camera takes care of selfies complete with Centre Stage feature.

Price, colors, and availability

Available in Starlight, Stunning New Blue, Purple, Space Gray, and pink color options, the iPad Air 5 retails for $599 (Wi-Fi) and $749 (Wi-Fi + Cellular) and will go on for pre-order on March 11. It will hit the shelves on March 18.

High-end Japanese toaster and kitchen appliances manufacturer Balmuda introduced its first-ever phone called Balmuda Phone. The phone is an Android OS-powered 5G smartphone with a compact design, cute little pebble-shaped look, and kind of mid-range specs.

The screen measures just 4.9″ carrying with it a Full HD+ resolution and the good old 16:9 aspect ratio. Thankfully the screen tries enough to stretch to all four corners for a bezel-less experience. Speaking of which, the front-facing 8MP camera is situated in the punch-hole cut-out.

balmuda-phone-02-1987785 Balmuda Phone with a pebble-like design | Source: Balmuda

Processing on this compact smartphone is handled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM. The internal memory available is 128GB of storage with no memory card slot for storage expansion.

The primary camera is a modest 48MP unit complete with an LED flash to boot. And as such is nothing to write home about.

Connectivity-wise, we have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB-C port for charging, and 5G to keep up with the times. Interestingly Qi-wireless charging is also present here to top-up the meager 2500 mAh battery.

Being an Android smartphone, we expected Android 12 to make it here, however, Bermuda has stuck with version 11. This is not okay but at least Balmuda has made sure it has provided some custom experience on top of vanilla Android. For instance, system apps like calendar, camera, and more are Balmuda’s own along with a few system-wide gestures to enlighten the overall experience.

All of this will be up for purchase for JPY 104,800 which translates to USD 912.43 making it quite expensive for what’s on offer.

Infinix is making waves in the smartphone industry again with its latest release – the Note 40 Pro 5G. As the name suggests, this phone packs 5G connectivity for super-fast speeds. But what has everyone really excited is the groundbreaking 108MP camera. In this article we talk about Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G- Exploring the Cutting-Edge 108MP Camera Technology

Introducing the Samsung HM6 Sensor

At the heart of the Note 40 Pro 5G’s camera setup is Samsung’s latest HM6 image sensor. With a 1/1.67″ size, it’s considerably larger than typical smartphone sensors. And combined with the 108MP resolution, it enables a level of detail and clarity previously unseen in phone cameras.

But sheer megapixels alone don’t tell the full story. The HM6 makes use of Samsung’s advanced 0.64μm-sized pixels and ISOCELL 3.0 technology for best-in-class light sensitivity and dynamic range. Even in challenging lighting, it can retain an impressive level of detail with minimal noise.

9-in-1 Pixel Binning for Superior Images

The Note 40 Pro 5G camera leverages pixel binning to boost light capture. By combining data from 9 adjacent pixels, it creates 12MP images with 2.1 micrometres of large superpixels. This greatly improves low light photos and allows for faster shutter speeds to minimize blurring.

Pixel binning also lets you zoom without losing image quality. Users can crop and enlarge up to 3x with no noticeable drop in image quality. So whether shooting wide landscapes or distant details, the Note 40 Pro 5G delivers.

Next-Gen AI Camera Enhancements

Infinix has also incorporated the latest MediaTek APU 3.0 AI processor into the Note 40 Pro 5G. With industry-leading efficiency, it powers next-gen camera features to elevate photography:

– AI Scene Detection: Recognizes up to 20 different scenarios to automatically optimize settings
– AI Portrait: Creates artistic background blur and lighting effects
– AI Capture: Identifies moving subjects to activate rapid burst mode
– AI Night Mode: Dramatically brightens low light shots while preserving natural tones

These intelligent enhancements make great photography effortless – even for novice users. Just point and shoot, and the Note 40 Pro 5G camera does the heavy lifting behind the scenes.

Cutting-Edge Optical Zoom Camera

But Infinix hasn’t stopped at 108MP and AI tricks alone. Uniquely, the Note 40 Pro 5G also sports a separate telephoto lens with up to 60x hybrid zoom.

Using a high quality 8MP OIS sensor, it delivers 2x optical magnification natively. Combined with the main camera’s high-res data, it can then digitally extrapolate lossless hybrid zoom up to 60x. This enables users to capture distant details not typically possible on smartphone cameras.

The telephoto lens also features PDAF autofocus for fast, accurate targeting. So users can quickly snap that action shot on the go without worrying about focusing issues.

Flagship-Level Video Capabilities

With smartphone cameras being used more and more for both photos and videos, Infinix has packed advanced videography features into the Note 40 Pro 5G:

– 8K Video Recording: Capture pin-sharp 4320p footage
– Ultra Steady Video: Powerful OIS and EIS stabilization even when zoomed in
– Time-Lapse: Condense extended events into creative timelapses
– Long Exposure: Artistically blur motion for dream-like effects
– Custom Bokeh Flare: Add stylish lens flares with shape and color options

These modes offer creativity far beyond typical smartphone video. Users can shoot pro-quality clips ready to share online or even produce 4K content.

Summary – Defining the Future of Smartphone Photography

With groundbreaking light capture, intelligent processing, and optical zoom capabilities, the Note 40 Pro 5G’s 108MP camera represents a new era in mobile photography. Infinix has once again pushed boundaries to deliver an unprecedented imaging experience in the palm of your hand.

As the first smartphone to debut Samsung’s advanced HM6 sensor, the Note 40 Pro 5G ushers in the 100MP+ camera standard of the future. Its market-leading zoom technology also redefines expectations of what phone cameras can achieve.

So if you want cutting-edge photography in a stylish, 5G-connected package, look no further than the Note 40 Pro 5G. Infinix is again proving that incredible innovation can come at an accessible price point. I sincerely hope you find this “Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G- Exploring the Cutting-Edge 108MP Camera Technology” article helpful.

However, when it comes to charging we are all accustomed to wired charging as usual, and as if that wasn’t convenient enough even though being fast, we saw the rise of wireless charging specifically the Qi (chee) wireless charging standard (every other wireless charger is based on this very standard today), not more than a decade ago.

Yes, the pucks and stands on which a smartphone is placed to sip up energy. Speaking of which, here’s why we think wireless charging technology is nothing more than just a gimmick. Then what about the convenience factor associated with it? We’ll get to that.

This one has to be the elephant in the room. The charging speed is super slow and that’s just an understatement. For instance, we used a 10W wireless charger to top up our iPhone SE (2020) and it took almost 4 hours to fully charge the battery (0% to 100%). For comparison’s sake, a 6.5W wired charger was brought to the scene, and it took about 2 hours to fill up the battery. However, let’s keep in mind that Apple caps the iPhone to wirelessly charge at 7.5W. And still, the speed is unsatisfactory at its best.

The next part of inefficiency is the heat that’s generated here. Just 20 minutes of charging the phone brought out almost burning levels of heat. In contrast, the usually wired charging generated little heat and as a result, the phone was slightly warm to the touch which is normal.

The phone needs to be placed right in the middle of the charging pad to ensure charging actually takes place. Going askew off the center stops the charging process as the induction coils are situated right in the middle portion of the wireless charger.

Taking the aforementioned observations into consideration, the convenience factor of wireless charging just proves to be worthless. Sure, your phone will top up without a cord helping you pick it up any time to check notifications. However, that perk isn’t justified here as the phone stops charging the moment it’s taken off the wireless charger pad. You may say a wireless charging stand helps here but not at all, again due to the lack of portability and wastage of space.

Stick to wired charging for now

It’s as simple as it gets, just takes that much effort to carry the brick and USB cable wherever you go. Apart from the perfectly manageable cord, picking up the phone for checking important notifications and more all while charging much efficiently and safely is more than feasible at the end of the day. Until and unless the weaknesses are ironed out, wired charging is all the way to go!

The Cupertino giant’s in-house silicon, the M1 chip is reportedly getting an upgrade just in time for the WWDC 2021. Yes, the Apple M2 chip (the tentative name for now) has already allegedly entered mass production as per a report from Nikkei Asia through its sources. TSMC, the chipset manufacturer for Apple began the production of the next-generation Mac processor this month.

The new silicon will be featured in 2021 MacBook Pro models that are expected to come out in the second half of this year, with shipments of the chipset beginning in July. Also, the new M2 chip is purported to be used beyond the MacBook and iMac lineup, expanding its reach to other Apple products as well.

The M2, much like the M1 is likely manufactured using the 5nm process and will naturally integrate the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, and other vital components in single silicon, unlike traditional computer processors.

At last year’s One more thing event, Apple surpassed and shocked the entire PC industry (specifically Intel to be precise!) with the introduction of the M1 chip to its Mac lineup. The M1 is the first computer chip built on the 5nm process and brings unmatched performance and power efficiency.

Although initially brought to the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini. Apple at the April 20 Event last week, launched the new iMac with the M1 chip onboard. And yes, the 2021 iPad Pro line too was given the delicious M1 taste at the same event.

It isn’t even a year, we are already hearing reports of an M1 successor now, which to be honest proves that Apple actually is way ahead of the industry in terms of product planning, marketing, and actual performance.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has come up with a $20 Million investment in You.com. Founded by Richard Socher nearly a year ago, aptly named You.com which is now in the Beta stage is a new search engine amidst the Google world of things. Powered by AI, the You.com search engine from the get-go implements privacy at its core for a great user experience. Ad targeting is not part of the agenda here. So, it’s completely ad-free at least for now.

TIME Ventures is leading the $20M Series A of @RichardSocher’s exciting new company https://t.co/mpagQsaiLl. I am greateful to my friend @jimihendrixlive for joining me on the adventure. Richard is the former head of research at salesforce and I’m thrilled to support him. ❤

You just install the You.com Chrome/browser extension as instructed and you’re good to go.

Content is presented to the user in a useful and actionable manner. All content that is searched is laid out in an intuitive setup with information from various consolidated in one central place. This ensures the user gets to his/her query as fast as possible.

Now one may wonder and ask “why You.com over the best search engine out there I.e. Google? The answer to this might be a bit over the tops, however considering the promises here, we couldn’t agree more. As in, You.com brings in a fresh search experience with what the You.com founder claims to be “click trust” as opposed to “clickbait”. Basically means that the search engine aims to bring in as many relevant and quality results to the user.

The screenshot below details how You.com employs AI to bring in the apt search results from sources a user expects, in a cinch.

you-com-search-results-6854053 You.com shows search results in a neat grid layout.

Moreover, You.com tries to eliminate the need of opening multiple tabs by summarizing results from sources that the user wants at the moment in a single instance and also defining and detailing them by using the power of AI. The results are all displayed in a neat grid format to provide an uncluttered experience.

You.com is something fresh out of the lot considering Google’s targeting of its user’s private information to bring personalized experience not only with the search engine and its controversial antitrust debacle all over the place.

Now, can You.com dethrone Google altogether? Not really all that possible as over 90% of the web is searched through the latter. But hey, as they say, “anything can happen right?”.

Thank you for reading.
