Apple pushes out iOS 14.4.1 with major security fix

Apple released iOS 14.4.1 for the iPhone and iPadOS 14.4.1 for the iPad on Monday. We just received the update on our iPhone SE (2020). The update is a minor version bump over 14.4. However, this update brings in a very important security fix with regards to the Safari browser. WebKit, Safari’s engine suffered a memory corruption issue which led to arbitrary code execution due to the processing of maliciously crafted content.

This is a major loophole within Safari and we urge our viewers to update their devices as soon as possible to be on the safe side.

iOS 14.4.1, now available

The update is available to all iPhones released since the iPhone 6S. Supported iPad models include every iPad Pro model, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad Air 2 and later, and the iPad Mini 4 and later. To update, simply head to Settings > General > Software update and download and install the new version. The update weighs around 138MB (device dependant) if your device is already running the 14.4 version.
