A small group of iPhone 13 Pro users is suffering from the pink screen of death issues on their devices. The iPhone 13 Pro pink screen issue is what appears to be a bright pink colored display appearing during normal usage of the device. The device freezes and even rebooting doesn’t solve the problem for some.

Frustrated users highlighted on the Apple Discussion Forum back in 2021 itself with symptoms being crashes rendering the debuts unusable. Restarting the device does not fix the issue for users. Even resetting to factory settings does not curb the issue.

Apple Service Center claimed the issue to be a hardware problem and users have been assured a replacement device in return. However, customers weren’t happy with their few days old iPhone 13 devices exhibiting such behavior.

One user had their iPhone 13 Pro Max display the pink screen while sending a PDF file via WhatsApp. Considering iOS 15.3 is right around the corner, we expect Apple to bring out some software updates to curb this issue better.

The infamous Apple aluminum debacle is back again. As per svetapple.sk, the aluminum frame on their own iPhone 12 which is a PRODUCT(RED) variant has had its color fade away over time. The red paint job has turned into a sort of milky orange hue. They claim to have always used the phone in a case and free from sunlight and other toxic environmental substances and exposure. See for yourself.

As you can see at the corners, the fade seems to be more prominent here probably caused by Apple’s improper treatment. The source also notes that their iPhone XR did not suffer from such an issue. Also that, the chemical reaction from Apple’s silicon case causes discoloration. Speaking of which, no fading occurred around the lightning connector, speakers, and microphone.

The report also mentions that several users have complained about the issue on the Apple discussion forum regarding the same problem including those using the iPhone SE (2020). On that note, we do have the same device in silver and already can see some minor blemishes even though it was in the case all time.

iPhone 11 users chime in…

Not only that, On MacRumors forums, a member that goes by the name tl01 posted images of her son’s iPhone 11 suffering discoloration. She notes that both of her sons have the same model both in a red hue. Yet, only one of them appears to have the problem.

On the same thread, another member, The-Real-Deal82 responded to the images:

Coloured aluminium will fade unfortunately and as we know even with a red car, it starts changing colour the moment it is exposed to UV light. Red is perhaps the worst colour for pigment change in just about any format from printing ink to coloured dyes.

In regards to an iPhone the colours aren’t present due to anodising. Anodising is very restricted to silvers, golds and down to dark bronze. The colours Apple use are from chemical colouring which is a similar process but allows a much wider colour variation. The downside of this is that they are not quite a stable in terms of resisting the elements.

I would definitely get that phone swapped and not use a case with clear sides going forward. I am very surprised you are seeing this fading after such a short space of time too.

What do you all think of this serious issue affecting iPhones? We are expecting Apple to officially respond to this problem. We hope the company provides replacements to all affected customers.

In late March, Apple released iOS 14.4.2 to users worldwide along with the iPad iteration of the same. The update fixed a critical WebKit issue on all compatible devices. However, since its release, users have been reporting severe battery drain and endurance issues. We too have been experiencing the same problem since updating our iPhone SE (2020). The battery percentage just drops down fairly quickly even when left unused.

On that note, it’s been quite a while now that Apple has been outing the beta versions of iOS 14.5 with beta 8 being the latest version as of now. We expect the final release to take place on the day the ‘Spring Loaded’ Apple April 20 event goes live.

Let’s take a look at what users over at Apple Developer Forums had to say about the excessive battery drain on iOS 14.4.2. Internet connectivity issues are also present in this update.

  • Been have severe battery drain since up date to iOS 14.4.2
  • You’re not the only one that is having this issue…
14 . 4 . 2 kills my phone in a few hours and random internet disconnects. Best upgrade ever.
  • Battery issues for me as well. 14.4.2 was automatically installed overnight on my Iphone 7 and today I’ve noticed a significant problem with my battery life. From 100% battery life at 9:00AM to 14% at 2:00PM with literally zero usage of the phone.
  • I have had the same problem with my iPhone 12. I am constantly running to the charger, and barely on my phone all day
  • I have been noticing this on my iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • Same issue for me. Dramatical battery drain after upgrade to latest 14.4.2. iPhone Xs MT532CN/A. Please help!
  • My iPhone (X) even acknowledges this. In the Battery section in settings it says: Recent Usage Your iPhone has been used more than usual since upgrading iOS, which may affect battery life. I have not been using it more myself. There are no obvious candidates in the list of programs taking up battery power, so I reckon it is iOS itself.
  • Same issue after 14.4.2 upgrade. iPhone SE second gen. horrible battery drain issue after the iOS upgrade. Please fix is urgently

  • Late last month, iOS 14.6 was out to the general public.
  • Disappointing battery endurance so far in our experience.
  • Occasional high background usage causes the iPhone to heat up.
  • Apple pushed out the iOS 14.6 update, not more than a couple of weeks ago. And with it came a very notorious problem in the form of excessive battery drain. Users took to the popular social media platform Twitter to express their grief and animosity following the update. A few incidents expressed on Twitter are below for your reference of how the software update crippled iPhones out there.

And as we all know, nothing escapes the notice of social platforms and helps the message reach out and multiply super-fast On that note, we too have pathetic battery life on iOS 14.6 with just about 3 hours of screen-time as opposed to the usual 4-4.5 hours.

DON’T MISS: Watch the June 7 Apple WWDC21 event.

A user @yma6rocks wrote to Apple and Tim Cook on Twitter regarding battery drain while his iPhone was plugged in:

The battery life on iOS 14.6 is horrendous!! It drains even when plugged in!! Fix it @apple @tim_cook

    — Sam (@yma6rocks) June 6, 2021

With regards to the iPhone getting hot, a user @gettradified expressed his experience via a couple of tweets with the user pointing out that his phone was very much like “on fire” while using the Apple Podcast app:

Anyone else update their iPhone to iOS 14.6 and now their phone gets super hot?

    — Jonathan Kennedy (@getradified) June 6, 2021

Like, I was just listening to a podcast and it was on fire.

    — Jonathan Kennedy (@getradified) June 6, 2021

Quite interestingly, @dls425 composed a tweet narrating his horrible experience. He compared how expensive his iPhone is compared to its rival the Samsung Galaxy phone and as a result, contemplating switching to the latter:

What the hell @Apple the iOS 14.6 just destroys your battery life, and for the amount I paid for this phone and my mom’s phone, I think it’s time to change to @SamsungMobileUS #applefail Apple has failed the last few updates

    — Devin Smith (@dls425) June 5, 2021

In a similar fashion, a user @vikesh0777 too is thinking to jump ship to Android if Apple doesn’t solve the heating and battery drain issues soon:

I thought an update was supposed to make your phone better, but i guess I was wrong.
IOS 14.6 draining battery giving heating issues are you people working on it or shifting to android is the only best option left now @AppStore @Apple

    — Vikesh Malusare (@vikesh0777) June 5, 2021

@thejimmyjuice wrote that his iPhone SE only lasts 2 hours upon light usage. It is unclear whether the user owns the 2016 or 2020 edition of the iPhone SE:

Hey @apple after installing iOS 14.6 on my iPhone SE, a full battery charge only lasts 2 hours with light use. Is there anything I can do to improve battery life?

    — Jimmy Son (@thejimmyjuice) June 4, 2021

    iOS 14.6.1 before WWDC?

We, very much like users out there are longing for Apple to fix the issues as soon as possible in the form of iOS 14.6.1. However, the question is when will they iron out the problems. Now that WWDC 2021 commences on Monday, there is little to no chance that we will see a release of iOS 14.6.1 before the event. On that note, iOS 15 will debut at Monday’s event and the Cupertino giant will release Beta 1 of the major update to compatible devices.

Last week Apple released iOS 15 Beta 5 to Developer Beta users and public testers. Over the week we have been using the same and so far things have been smooth and sound. Performance and battery life have been dramatically improved compared to previous beta versions.

However, to make things bitter, a very annoying bug has plagued iOS 15 Beta 5. In-browser videos in Safari fail to display with only audio being played. To make things worse, the issue is not limited to Safari but to every other web browser, we played a video in.

At first, we thought the issue is related to the Youtube website but things are all the same on other websites with embedded videos.

There are no visuals with only the audio being played here.

As part of thorough testing, we fired the Youtube app to see if the problem persists in video apps. Thankfully, things are all good in Youtube app along with video streaming apps. As far as we can understand, there is really no workaround with the only option being is to wait for the next beta release.

As the new iPad mini 6 reached customers worldwide, many came across a weird screen problem with the device. The problem is nothing but “jelly scrolling” as first noted by Dieter Bohn of The Verge and then 9to5Mac. For those unfamiliar with jelly scrolling, it is an issue where one half of the display refreshes slower than the other. This brings in a jelly-like wobble effect affecting the user experience in general.

Here is is slow-mo video of scrolling on the iPad Min i slowed down EVEN MORE in a frame-by-frame step through. Notice how the right moves up faster than the left.

In normal usage you barely see it, but every now and then it become noticeable. In landscape it goes away entirely pic.twitter.com/iq9LGJzsDI

    — Dieter Bohn (@backlon) September 22, 2021

As you can see, Dieter’s iPad mini 6 showcased the weird scrolling behavior when captured frame by frame in slow motion. He noted that the effect was noticeable intermittently and that too only in portrait orientation. Using the device in landscape mode, the issue did not persist.

    DOWNLOAD: iPad mini 6 wallpapers

The popular tech portal, Ars Technica, reached out to Apple for an explanation regarding the issue. Apple responded to their inquiry by reasoning the scrolling effect as normal on all LCD screens.

In response to our inquiry, Apple has told us that the “jelly scroll” issue on the 6th-generation iPad mini is normal behavior for LCD screens. Because these screens do refresh line by line, there is a tiny delay between when the lines at the top of the screen and lines at the bottom are refreshed. This can cause uneven scrolling issues like the ones observed on the iPad.

In addition to all this, Ars Technica noticed that the scrolling effect wasn’t noticeable on the iPad Air 4 and the 9th gen iPad as much as on the iPad mini 6. This makes us believe that Apple isn’t going to provide a replacement to all of them who expected to get one anyway.

The teardown experts, iFixit disassembled the iPad mini 6 and came with their findings. It turns out, the driver of the display is positioned vertically, with respect to how one would hold their phone or tablet. The display refreshes in parallel to the driver placement. As in, here, refresh happens horizontally which leads to jelly scrolling when viewed in portrait orientation.

GUIDE: Why you should buy the iPad mini 6 over the iPad Air 4

On the other hand, the iPad Air 4 has a display driver that is horizontally mounted causing jelly scrolling when viewing in landscape mode. iFixit also brought up the iPad Pro for comparison which also has the display driver placed like that of the iPad mini 6. The effect here was hard to notice (although persistent) due to the refresh rate being 120Hz as opposed to 60Hz.

iFixit believes Apple may have used a cheaper quality display on the iPad mini 6 which further showcases jelly scrolling than normal.

The teardown noted the easy removal of the USB-C port. However, the battery, speaker, and display all use adhesives in full glory making repairs a tough job. Speaking of which, iFixit gave the iPad mini 6 a lowly 3/10 repairability score. Check it out below.
